Several points that I would like to start with:
Visit Realus' Site often. He has done an amazing job and deserves recognition.
Read Kallas' FAQ and Velvetrose's Tips. 'nuff said.
There are many others guides in the Guide Compilation on the RF forums. Read them all. Soak up as much knowledge as you can. Practice their techniques-- use them in game.
Watch these YouTube videos:
Rumble Fighter Ultimate Juggle Video (YouTube)**
This video shows the longest juggles possible for many scrolls. Some are more for show while others can be useful in game.
Advanced Dragon Nanmu Damage Video (YouTube)**
This video compares a STR set vs. no stats and proves that stats can be an important factor in Rumble Fighter.
Rumble Fighter - Panic Breaker Video (YouTube)**
This video shows how a panic breaker can be done.
Boonie Does a Panic Breaker Video (YouTube)**
Another panic breaker video to prove that anyone can learn to do it.
New Players: Immediately purchase Astros. If you can afford to, start off with a minimum of 400 Astros ($20). Use this to purchase a Sacred Scroll (up to 175 189 Astros), an ExoCore (up to 210 Astros), and a 30 Day Silver British (180 Astros). If you cannot afford 400 Astros, go for the 200 ($10) and only get a Scroll. Think of this as an initial investment to help you become better and gain Carats faster. When you initially purchase Astros, you must wait 7 full days before you receive them. After the first purchase waiting period, any other purchases are immediate-- i.e.: you receive your Astros instantely. Use this seven day period to learn the basics of the game. Read through the guides and try to use their techniques in game. When you reach level 3, you will get the Street Sacred Scroll. Use this if you want, as it is automatically opened and after 10 days is gone.
Play. Practice. Play for many hours. As with anything, this game takes dedication and experience to be good-- let alone to be great. Experience brings knowledge and skill. No matter how much you read or watch, without playing and practicing you cannot utilize any skills.
Buy your own Astros. You will save yourself a great load of grief and frustration, along with many, many hours of game play. It is pointless to waste 25k carats on a scam. However, do not just buy Astros just to buy Astros. Have something(s) in mind that you want and know that you will use. This also helps support OGP and Rumble Fighter-- meaning updates, servers, etc.
Never, never, NEVER sell anything that you currently own. The buyback ratio is ridiculous—25% of what you paid for it—and you may want to go back and play with those items just for fun or to make yourself better. I made this mistake with several scrolls and ExoCores, which I regret.
Choose a class, scroll, and two ExoCores to be your main character setup. Consistently play with this setup. The more you use the same scroll and ExoCores the more you will know about it and be able to master them. The best example I have is real life and Mixed Martial Arts (MMA or UFC): Who is bound to win a match—someone who has spent one year learning 5 different fighting styles, or someone who has spent one year mastering a single fighting style (granted, it takes more than a year to even learn one style, but you get my drift)? There is a difference between learning and mastering a scroll in Rumble Fight as well. The same goes for ExoCores. Use the same ones over and over and over again.
Some people contest this saying that mastering a single scroll does not prove skill and that people will become bored with you. My opinion differs greatly on this, as proven above. I am a firm believer in mastering a single scroll and only then playing with other scrolls and ExoCores.
This idea more in depth.
Do not complain about scrolls, edging, stats, or any other aspect of the game. There is no reason to whine about any of that. Also, stay away from using the terms "noob," "own," "pwn," and any variance of the three (pawn, n00b, narb, n4rb, ownage, pwnage, etc). These words do nothing but cause anger and grief and do nothing to help you grow into the best fighter that you can be. They also show your maturity level and actual in-game level. It is extremely unlikely that you will see a level 50+ using such words, though there are exceptions. We (the friends that I consistently play with and myself) regularly kick any player(s) who use these words.
Bottom line: Stats are part of the game. Deal with it.
Bottom line: Scrolls are part of the game. Deal with it.
Bottom line: ExoCores are part of the game. Deal with it.
Bottom line: Edging is part of the game. Deal with it.
Bottom line: ________ is/are part of the game. Deal with it.
